Carmen C. Gaston is the Director of Mission Advancement at the Archdiocese of Portland. She currently oversees all communications and development efforts in support of the Catholic Church in western Oregon. A longtime advancement professional, Carmen previously served as the Chief Development & Strategy Officer for Catholic Charities Oregon and the Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations and Planning at the University of Portland. Prior to serving in non-profit roles, she worked in brand and product management at John Deere. A native of Portland, she attended the University of Portland and Creighton University School of Law. Carmen is involved in many social issues and presently leads the Family, Food, and Faith Program that has fed over 350,000 families in western Oregon during the coronavirus pandemic.
